Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative

The Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC) intends to be a catalyst for regional collaboration, an aggressive and creative force on behalf of rural communities and rural health.  RWHC promotes the preservation and furthers the development of a coordinated system of rural health care which provides both quality and efficient care in settings that best meet the needs of rural residents in a manner consistent with their community values.  Incorporated in 1979, RWHC has received national recognition as one of the country's earliest and most successful models for networking among rural hospitals.

Challenge

With the support of the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health, the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC) wanted to develop an online system for searching for job opportunities within the healthcare industry in rural Wisconsin areas.  The system needed to allow employers to post and track job openings and receive customized reports, as well as enabling job seekers around the country to post resumes and search for opportunities within their areas of specialty or within specific geographic regions in Wisconsin.

Key Components

The development for this project was done in the Microsoft ASP .NET environment using the C# programming language.  Microsoft SQL Server was used as the primary data repository for the system.
