Web Application Developer (Front-End Development Focused)

We have an exciting opening for a full-stack, open source Web Application Developer (full-time) to join our innovative Software Development team in Madison, Wisconsin!

This position will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle for multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives on time. Some responsibilities may include the planning, development (front-end focused), and analysis of projects, software design, coding, testing, installation and supporting various clients through the implementation process. We are a Gold Certified Microsoft Partner (100% Microsoft Shop) and operates under an Agile Development Methodology.

General Job Qualification

  • 4+ years of Web Development experience using Microsoft development technologies
  • Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Strong background in a variety of software design and development concepts
  • Microsoft certification or related technical certification is a plus
  • Self-starter with a passion for software development and desire to develop quality solutions within a collaborative development environment
  • Have direct experience working in an Agile Development Methodology environment

Software Quality Assurance Lead

We have an exciting full-time opening for an experienced, innovative and motivated Software Quality Assurance Lead to join our Software Development team here in Madison, Wisconsin. The QA Lead is a key player on our team and will be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle for multiple on-going projects. This individual will be collaborating with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of consistant quality solutions to our clients and to provide QA expertise and recommendations to our management team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all phases and features of the software solutions are tested, mitage any potential issues and fix all issues before delivering to our clients in go-lives.
  • Serve as the testing expert to provide testing strategies and recommendations directly to the executive management team to ensure consistant delivery of quality software solutions for our clients.
  • Responsible for creating and archiving end-to-end test plans; executing the QA plans and managing all activitivies in the plans to ensure all business and technical requirements and objectives are met and solutions work as expected.
  • Play a key role in the continual development of internal QA process, QA best practices and testing strategies.
  • Review requirements, specifications and documentations with Project Managers, Leads and Tech Leads to gain a thorough understanding of project objectives.
  • Design, develop and execute test plans in alignment to client’s business and technical requirements.
  • Ensure the quality of the software by creating and modifying software test scenarios and test scripts, creation and execution of software test scripts, performing analysis of test results and the reporting of quality issues.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Team Leads, Tech Leads, Project Managers and Software Developers to communicate test results and resolve defects.
  • Archive and identify software issues and enter data in defect internal systems.
  • Create and report testing metrics to management to assess testing effort, scope, timeline, stability and status of all testing activities.
  • Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks.
  • Develop traceability matrices and test reports.
  • Provide support for various testing (performance testing, acceptance testing, user acceptance testing, and site acceptance testing, etc. as required).
  • Conduct backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment including validating stored procs, jobs and triggers.
  • Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
  • Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Provide mentorship to junior testers.

  • 4 + years of experience in testing web applications in an Agile development methodology.
  • Ability to work independently and systematically.
  • Ability to perform thorough analysis of Software Requirement documentation to ensure completeness and testability of requirements.
  • Experience in Manual testing and/or Automated testing.
  • Experience writing test scripts and utilizing CM tools.
  • Testing software deployed in an AWS, C2S or cloud environment.
  • Experience working with Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Windows Server 2012).
  • Experience working in a virtual computing environment.
  • Experience working with SQL Server.
  • Adhere to team priorities and work well in an integrated developer/tester environment.
  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server 2015 change and configuration management tool.
  • Working knowledge of Test Services in Team Foundation Server 2015.
  • Experience in agile scrum development environment, testing weekly builds and full regression testing for production releases.
  • QA related certification is a plus.
