Scientific Instrumentation
Get your instruments out of the lab and into the market.
We build the custom software that turns a promising prototype into a commercial product, designed to scale, engineere3d for regulatory and security standards, and shaped around the scientists who will use it.
Services
Commercializing Your Product
Five capabilities that elevate the user experience and enable the productization of your innovation: from the code that drives the hardware to the pipelines that carry its data to customer portals.
01
Instrument Software
Applications that support your instrument's functionality, performance, and long-term evolution — built to survive hardware revisions, not just the first release.
02
User Control Software
Interfaces that make the operation of your device intuitive, reliable, and safe — designed with the bench scientist, not the spec sheet, in mind.
03
Data Integrations
Connect instruments to LIMS, ELNs, cloud platforms, and analytics tools so results move without silos and reporting stops being manual.
04
AI & Machine Learning
Automation, image analysis, predictive models, and decision support that remove repetitive steps from a workflow instead of adding new ones.
05
DevSecOps
Secure, compliant environments that streamline continuous development, testing, and deployment, so your team can ship faster without inviting audit risk.
Not sure which of these you need?
Reach out to us. We'll talk about your prototype or the product or service you're commercializing and explore the best path forward.
Challenges We Solve
Roadblocks That Push Your Launch Date Back
Any one of these hindrances can prevent you from launching and delay the cash inflow you need from commercialization.
01 Prototype software that won't scale for commercialization
02 Difficulty navigating security and compliance regulations
03 Architecture decisions made under uncertainty that later cap growth
04 Performance issues discovered too late to fix cheaply
05 Discounted data ecosystems
06 Internal teams stretched too thin
07 Off-the-shelf tools that don't meet your needs
08 Scope growth that keeps moving the launch date
How We Can Help
Six Commitments You Can Expect From Working With Our Team
01
Architect for longevity
Software that supports stability, scalability, and the full commercial life of the product.
02
Work alongside your people
Close collaboration with your scientists, engineers, and product leaders rather than requirements thrown over a wall.
03
Sequence for the timeline
Prioritize what accelerates the launch and prevents the reworks that cost the most later.
04
Build compliance in
Regulatory and security requirements handled as design constraints, not as a scramble before audit.
05
Use what you already have
Leverage your existing ecosystem so prior investments keep paying off.
06
Design for the user
The people running the instrument or platform day to day are the ones the interface is built around.
The Outcome
Software that strengthens your product, supports your team, and helps you reach the market faster so that you see a return on the investment sooner.
Client Success Story
Turning a Jupyter Notebook Model into a Licensable Commercial Product
Yahara Software transformed SentrySciences' bench-tested machine learning model — used to characterize subvisible particles in biologic drug products — from research code in Jupyter notebooks into a fully deployable, licensable commercial software product.
-
The Challenge
SentrySciences had already solved the hard scientific problem of developing a complex neural network AI model that characterizes subvisible particles and protein aggregates in biologic drug products that generates "fingerprint" models used for formulation development, scale-up, and production quality control. But the model lived in a Jupyter notebooks and needed to be scaled for commercial use.
-
How Yahara Helped
Yahara took the model from prototype to commercial product:
- Rebuilt the research code as a standalone Python library — a fully source-controlled, versioned, maintainable codebase in place of scattered notebook cells
- Wrapped it with a real user interface, making the model's core capabilities — creating a fingerprint model, comparing new images against a fingerprint, curating particle images — usable through software rather than raw code
- Packaged the result for distribution, engineering it to be deployable, maintainable over time, and licensable as a standalone commercial product
-
The Results
-
A commercially available product, ParticleSentryᴬᴵ, compatible with flow-imaging microscopy, backgrounded membrane imaging, and microfluidic imaging platforms
- A maintained, versioned codebase replacing what had been research-only notebook code, ready for ongoing updates rather than one-off runs
- The ability to retrain fingerprint models as new conditions are captured, keeping the product useful as customers' science evolves
- A model now used by biopharma companies, generating license revenue from work that previously lived entirely on the bench
-
-
Why It Matters
For any organization whose AI breakthrough is currently stuck in a notebook, our work for SentrySciences is proof of what it looks like on the other side.

FAQ: What does it take to turn a research ML model into a commercial product?
For SentrySciences, it meant rebuilding notebook-based research code into a standalone, source-controlled Python library, wrapping it in a real user interface, and packaging it so it could be deployed, maintained, and licensed — the same path Yahara calls AI Model Integration.

In Their Words
Testimonials from our clients across industries
Yahara helped design the automatic workflows we are using now, which is saving us time and improving data quality, because it removes the possibility of human error. We appreciate that Yahara has been a flexible partner that helped our team learn and grow. They responded to needs seen and unseen and helped us get to the finish line, including defining what the finish line was.
There have been a number of times where I've come to Yahara with a problem and they have come back to me with a better solution than what I proposed – one that would work better in the long run, better address the problem, and would be easier to implement. And I think that is just something that only comes with having a lot of passion for the project.
This is exactly why we hired Yahara. We wanted someone with expertise and an outside view — not just us complaining because we're the paying customer. Yahara brought objectivity and clarity around what wasn’t working and what to do about it.
I was very impressed with the turn around time. It became fairly obvious that you have a lot of individuals with a lot of skills. We were definitely able to see that. Definitely going to continue to work with you guys in the future.
The executive team is thrilled with what you’ve done so far. We’re excited to continue this partnership.
Common Questions
If yours isn't here, reach out to us, and we'll get back to you with answers.
Do you work with an existing prototype, or start from scratch?
Either. Most engagements begin with code that already exists and proved the science. We assess what to keep, what to rebuild, and in what order.
How do you handle regulatory and security requirements?
They shape the architecture from the start. We are SOC 2 audited, work in validated and controlled environments, and document as we build so evidence exists when it is needed.
What does an engagement look like?
An assessment of your challenges, a written recommendation you can evaluate before committing, a phased build with validation and testing, then ongoing tuning, training, and support.
Who owns the software you build?
You do. Code, documentation, and infrastructure definitions are yours, and we hand off in a state your team can maintain.
Can you integrate with the LIMS or ELN we already use?
Yes. Working within an existing ecosystem is usually cheaper and faster than replacing it, and it protects the investment you have already made.
Where is your team located?
Madison, Wisconsin. Engagements are staffed with U.S.-based teams.
